Lois Perkins, 89, Canton formally of Potsdam, peacefully passed away Thursday evening, May 19, 2017 at United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton.
Lois was born on June 5, 1927 in Potsdam, NY the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Mullin) Perkins. She graduated from Potsdam Central School and later attended Potsdam State. She married John Andrikut Sr. July 30, 1949. John passed away in 1999. Lois worked for the New York Telephone Company for 5 years before leaving to raise her children. Lois Perkins, 89, Canton formally of Potsdam, peacefully passed away Thursday evening, May 19, 2017 at United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton.
Lois was born on June 5, 1927 in Potsdam, NY the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Mullin) Perkins. She graduated from Potsdam Central School and later attended Potsdam State. She married John Andrikut Sr. July 30, 1949. John passed away in 1999. Lois worked for the New York Telephone Company for 5 years before leaving to raise her children. Ms. Perkins was a past president to the Potsdam Women's Republican Club, lifelong member of St. Mary's Church in Potsdam along with the Alter Rosary Society, taught Catechism classes for 23 years and a communicant for over 60 years.
Lois is survived by her two sons; John Andrikut Jr of Potsdam and Stephen and Susan Andrikut of Florida, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois is predeceased by a sisters Marjorie Beigel, Ruth Carmichael, Irene Murphy and Katherine Schwarczkopf, brothers; Lawrence, Lloyd, Bernard, Maurice and Kenneth and Robert Perkins.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 23rd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam. Funeral will be held on Wednesday May 24th at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church Potsdam with Rev. Howard Vennett and Rev. Stephen Rocker co-officiating.
Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Potsdam.
